EDI Limited are the proud winners of two awards at the Tanzania Revenue Authority’s 8th Taxpayers Day 2014.
These awards are made in recognition of the company’s outstanding tax compliance and contribution during the most recent fiscal year.
We were delighted to win first place in the large taxpayer category but wholly thrilled to receive the Overall Winner for the Kagera region.
EDI’s Finance Director in Tanzania, Mr. Aris Mgohamwende said: “This is welcome and much deserved recognition for the hard work and diligence shown by everyone at EDI; from the culture and leadership fostered by our Executive Chair, Mrs. Louise Broadbent through to my team ploughing away with the substantial tasks of accounting for large-scale projects with multiple data collection teams out in the field and finally it’s the result of a company-wide effort because we work together to ensure every dollar or shilling is accounted for.”
The EDI group Managing Director, Mike Woolford, expressed his pleasure too: “This is a real feather in our cap. Our company values speak of dealing fairly and transparently with our various stakeholders and in trying to make a positive contribution to people’s lives, including those from within the communities within which we operate. Achieving tangible affirmation that we are delivering this through the contribution of tax receipts to the Kagera region and Tanzania as a whole is heartening. It’s a job well done and yet one that continues as EDI grows still further.”
