As a part of the official programme of events to mark the International Year of Evaluation, EDI were delighted to accept an invitation from the President of the Cameroon Development Evaluation Associations (CaDEA), Mr. Debazou Yantio, to present at the CaDEA  Annual Congress, held at the Yaoundé Conference Centre in Cameroon.

EDI’s Commercial Director Steven Broadbent spoke about some of the key research, data and monitoring & evaluation considerations related to electronic data collection.  In particular the expanding utilisation and deployment of surveybe, across vast geographies and multiple sectors were shown to deliver the highest quality data to form the evidence base upon which decisions are made.

In a room full of delegates Mr. Broadbent highlighted EDI’s continuous drive to improve data quality with a particular focus on evaluations through the use of better data collection tools and some unique questionnaire design possibilities brought about by the innovative functionality of surveybe including Cascading ID’s, dynamic multi-response options amongst others.

He also explained that the EDI Group enjoys the advantage of continuing to implement, manage and support a wide range of socio-economic surveys through the provision of world class services in East Africa and across the world.  Therefore Mr. Broadbent was able to intertwine references to the superb methodologies that EDI follow in their projects to heighten the value of the presentation on ‘Electronic Data Collection with Surveybe’.  This was warmly received by the delegates in the room as it encompassed the realities of fieldwork, which they all encounter in their job roles, with the advantages of surveybe.

The delegates collectively enthused about how impressed they were with Surveybe with one exclaiming: “..[your product] I find useful and very functional given the traditional challenges in questionnaire design, data collection, and validation.”

EDI were pleased to continue its support of the International Year of Evaluation and we continue to follow our group vision to “Create a positive impact on people’s lives through the provision of world class research services, tools and innovations that enable better decision making from global to household level”
